Dear HAP Alumni/ae:

On behalf of Dean Gupta, Weston Career Center staff, and the entire Olin Business School community, I am very pleased the HAP Alumni Association Board approved the recommendation to re-establish its relationship with Washington University through the Olin Business School.  The full text of the announcement by Kim Russell is below.

Our number one goal is to make this relationship beneficial for all involved.  To this end, the HAP Alumni Association website will remain the primary communication mechanism between alumni and Olin.   We expect to use the website to post useful information related to the professional education of HAP alums as well as event invitations to St. Louis, regional or national events sponsored by Washington University and/or Olin Business School.

We have three immediate goals:

1.    To update the alumni database so that we can effectively communicate to alums in a timely fashion, therefore, if your profile is out of date; please take a moment to update it.  If you do not remember your ID or password, please email Ron Gribbins at grib@wustl.edu.  Ron will forward them to you.  You can assist us by communicating to HAP alums you may know either by email or through social networking (i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook).

2.   To launch the job posting section of the website. HAP alumni are constantly looking for professional advancement and the website has a section to post job announcements.  You are encouraged to post jobs or send them along to us.  We will also post opportunities received in the career center that may be attractive to HAP alumni.  In the final analysis, however, this section will be useful to the extent it is used by alumni.

3.    To help attract Olin talent to your organization.  The Olin Business School offers an undergraduate major and MBA concentration in healthcare management.  Internships are always in demand for students interested in a career in the healthcare sector.  If your organization employs interns, either summer or spring, we have bright, eager BSBA or MBA students ready and able to work in your organization.  Internships are a very effective way to assess talent and capture those that most “fit” your organization’s needs and culture.  Please send all internship or full-time job postings directly to me at brostoff@wustl.edu.

We are here to support the career goals of the HAP alumni and future healthcare management leaders that are enrolled in Washington University, Olin Business School.

Your ideas regarding how to best meet these objectives are always welcome.

Best regards,

Mark
